October 22, 2025 - Bob Conn -The BIG HOT Question: How Close are We to Fusion Energy
Seven of our members attended Bob's presentation at General Atomics.
Advances over the past decade in the physics of magnetically confined plasma, the achievements in inertial confinement fusion using lasers, and several breakthroughs in the engineering of high temperature superconducting magnets have improved the outlook. Alongside these scientific and engineering advances have come private investments of more than $6 Billion in fusion energy startups, a most remarkable and surprising development. The prospects for fusion energy are brighter today than at any time in the past thirty years.
His presentation is available below.
October 22, 2025 -Rebroadcast of the ANS Seminar "Securing the Isotope Supply Chain: A Growing Global Challenge."
